In an editorial yesterday in DPRK Today, North Korea’s state media outlet, Trump was praised as the candidate that would further North Korea’s goals the most.
“The president that US citizens must vote for is not that dull Hillary – who claimed to adapt the Iranian model to resolve nuclear issues on the Korean Peninsula – but Trump, who spoke of holding direct conversation with North Korea”, the editorial proclaimed.
Referring to Trump’s March speech, in which he suggested that the U.S. might withdraw forces from South Korea if he were elected, the editorial urged “Yes do it, now … Who knew that the slogan ‘Yankee Go Home’ would come true like this? The day when the ‘Yankee Go Home’ slogan becomes real would be the day of Korean Unification.”
Calling him “wise” and “far sighted”, the editorial also stated ““Trump said he will not get involved in the war between the South and the North, isn’t this fortunate from North Korea’ perspective?”
Although not an official endorsement of the North Korean government, such an editorial could not have appeared in North Korea’s tightly controlled media if it did not reflect official opinion. Unfortunately a full translation is not available, and so like all media outlets I have seen I am able only to provide you with the summary given in NK News (linked above), meaning this is South Korea’s interpretation of the editorial.
But Democrats beware — with the enthusiastic endorsement of North Korea, how could Trump possibly lose?
